The Matthias Family > Saint Andrew's Church, built between 1747 and 1753, has been fully restored and is open to the public as an historical architectural museum.
The Matthias Family > Independence Square, which became a focus of the world during the recent elections of the "Orange Revolution." Tens of thousands of Ukrainians camped here in protest of the fraudulent elections and the subsequent run-off elections.
The Matthias Family > Regardless of the weather, these women brave the elements daily in order to sell a few fruits or vegetables, hoping to earn enough to make it through the month.

The Matthias Family > This is the Kiev Ballet and Operahouse. It is located downtown and we celebrated Corrie Mae's 6th birthday by taking her to see Tchaikovsky's ballet, Swan Lake.
The Matthias Family > On the grounds of the gardens is an orthodox church. We visited inside, which was just as beautiful as the outside. We were not permitted to take pictures however.
