The Matthias Family  > Other > Our Church in Kiev, "Revival Church" or "церквовь возрождение"
Church in Kyiv is different in some ways, such as language. But in other ways, a worship service is still just bringing praise to our God and learning from His Word.

The Matthias Family > Welcome to our Sunday morning service! We began attending here a few weeks after our arrival, in early March '05. The service is conducted entirely in Russian and usually lasts about 2 hours. There are currently several other missionary families who attend here as well.
The Matthias Family > On Easter Sunday, several of the musicians were playing and singing out front. With the exception of Pastor's wife (who plays piano), most of the musicians are teens or young people. As you can see, the church holds services in an apartment it rents. During the week, a Christian kindergarten-preschool, Creative Hearts, operates there. In fact, this is where Corrie Mae attends 1st grade 4 days a week. Her classes are also held completely in Russian.
The Matthias Family > This is our pastor, Pastor Boris. He has been pastor of the church for less than one year. The previous pastor was Scott Carter, a missionary who started the church about 5 years ago.
The Matthias Family > As you can see from this photo, there are generally about 50 people who attend our services on a Sunday morning.
The Matthias Family > Marina plays the violin fairly often.
The Matthias Family > As so many of the youth in our church are gifted musically, we frequently have special music including violins and other instruments.
The Matthias Family > On Easter Sunday, they put on a puppet show. All the kids loved it and many of the adults were laughing along as well.
The Matthias Family > On October 1st, our church here in KIev celebrated their thankfulness to the Lord.
